Description
Reflexology is a holistic treatment which treats the whole person – mind, body and spirit. This non-invasive complementary therapy gives your client a deeper level of relaxation and sense of general well-being. In this course, we teach you specialised techniques using finger and thumb walking and rotations to release blockages within the energy pathways working on the feet, as well as how to apply that knowledge onto the hands. The aim is to induce a state of balance and harmony by stimulating the body’s own potential to heal both physically and emotionally. Pressure is applied to stimulate and clear the energy pathways using specific fingers and thumb massage techniques. It is based on the principal that there are reflex zones in the feet which are linked by energy pathways to corresponding parts of the body and, when pressure is applied, it stimulates the movement of energy along these pathways.

Evidence requirements
- Complete a short theory test online prior to attending practical day
- Carry out reflexology treatments including direct and indirect reflex work, proven knowledge of the systems and their relating reflexes
- Complete a minimum of 100 treatment case studies (10 people x 10 treatments)
- Proven aftercare and homecare advice
We start with introductions and house keeping . Key points of the theory, completed online are recapped and related to the service. All products, tools and equipment and treatment preparation are discussed including storage, data protection and H&S precautions.
The tutor will demonstrate a client consultation and perform a detailed demonstration of the service whilst answering any questions you may have.
After each demo, students will complete the practical session under the supervision of the tutor.
The course will run for 1 day a week, across 10 weeks. You will be expected to work on case studies outside of your face to face learning hours to ensure that you are able to meet the criteria required by VTCT
