Description

Dermaplaning is a non-invasive skincare procedure that involves gently exfoliating the skin's surface using a sterile surgical scalpel. This precise technique effectively removes dead skin cells, vellus hair (peach fuzz), and built-up debris, leaving the skin smoother, brighter, and more youthful in appearance.

During your 2 day course, you will delve into the fundamentals of dermaplaning, starting with an in-depth exploration of skin anatomy and physiology. Understanding the intricacies of the skin's structure will enable you to tailor treatments to individual skin types and concerns effectively.

Under the guidance of experienced instructors, you will learn the proper handling of dermaplaning tools and techniques, emphasizing safety, precision, and hygiene. Through hands-on practice sessions, you will hone your skills, mastering the art of controlled scraping to achieve optimal exfoliation and rejuvenation results.

What do I do now?

Once the booking has been made, we will send you a Course Confirmation email which will contain your login details for our elearning platform. Here you will find your pre-course theory which is to be completed before attending your practical training. Using this blended learning style allows you to spend more time on the practical elements whilst at the school with your tutor. 

What happens on the day?

On Day 1, once you have got settled with a refreshment, we will start the course with general house keeping and important H&S briefing. You tutor will then recap the key points of your online theory and answer any questions you have to ensure you are confident in your understanding of the treatment you are learning. During the demonstration of the treatment, feel free to make notes, ask questions and/or take photos if you wish. You will then be able to demonstrate your ability to complete the treatment on your model/s (refer to model timings above). Your tutor will be there to assist and guide you at every step of the way. All courses will be wrapped up with a recap session, giving you the opportunity to ask any questions, ensuring that you are 100% confident to start practising from home. In between your sessions at the school, you will have a portfolio of evidence to complete in the form of Case Studies and Assignments. This evidence is a requirement of the course and will support your learning and development of your new skills and build your confidence so that you are ready to complete your live assessments which will be done under the observation of our highly skilled Assessors on Day 2.

What happens after?

Upon successful completion of the course, your portfolio of evidence will be signed off by your Assessor and then handed to your IQA for a quality check. Upon a successful quality check, your certificate will be requested from Focus Awards. Once your certificate arrives, we will be in contact with you to arrange collection. We advise giving yourself time to build your confidence and perfect your skills by practising on friends and family to start with. When you feel ready, you can go ahead and start building your client base. All course completed at UK Beauty Schools comes with lifetime support.
