The VTCT Level 4 Diploma in Advanced Beauty Therapy is a vocationally related qualification that will prepare you to gain employment as an advanced senior beauty therapist, as the units contained in this qualification cover all the skills and knowledge required for this role.

Pre qualification needs GCSE or good English language skills Plus a Level 3 in Beauty.

Entry on to this qualification can be via previous beauty therapy qualification at level 3. This is a vocational qualification which builds on beauty therapy skills to allow you to develop specialist beauty therapy techniques to prepare you for employment as an advanced senior beauty therapist. The techniques covered in the mandatory section of this qualification include:

• Laser and light treatments for hair removal
• Laser and light treatments for skin rejuvenation
• Microdermabrasion techniques

You will also gain knowledge and understanding of:

• Dermatology and microbiology
• Physiology of ageing
• Management of health, safety and security in the salon
• Quality management of client care
• Salon management.

You will also have the opportunity to further develop your knowledge and skills by selecting one from a range of optional units, including:

• Research, IT and data handling
• Marketing, cultural social and technological influences on beauty-related industries
• Public relations in the hair and beauty sector
